Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the secured personal information device of the future, including hardware, firmware and software disciplines. One is required to research and develop upon the latest communications, memory, computing and cryptography technologies for smart card and personal devices, with emphasis on contactless systems.
He/she will participate in every phase of the development life cycle: requirements analysis, solution design, implementation, testing and release.
With experience, the R&D Engineer will be expected to deliver consultancy, technical support and sales support services, thus adding greater dimensions and exposure to the job profile. Promotion or sideways movement into sales, project and consultancy work are possible for the proven staff.
Skills
Some experience developing embedded software for micro-controllers, e.g. hardware device drivers, real-time operating system (RTOS), embedded virtual machines, wired and wireless communication interfaces and Flash file system. Familiar with Integrated Development Environments for embedded systems, e.g. Keil, IAR and Eclipse. Knowledge of C/C++ and Assembly programming languages on 8-, 16- and 32-bit platforms, e.g. 8051, Microchip, ARM7 and ARM9.
Practical knowledge in areas of board-level RF troubleshooting, RF measurement techniques, and RF system level knowledge. Strong hands-in skills of RF tests and verification equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and frequency/function generators.
Knowledge of digital electronics, HF radio frequency design and/or Electronics Design Automation (EDA) tools, e.g. SPICE, Electronics Workbench, Microwave Office, CADSTAR, Protel and so forth.
Eligibility
The candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree with distinction or higher, majoring in Electrical and Electronics, Microelectronics, Computer or equivalent.
The candidate should be a highly motivated, independent individual with strong interest in R&D. Effective communication skills, good command of the English language and teamwork ability are preferred qualities.
Staff is expected to travel overseas when required.
The candidate should be a Malaysian citizen or hold a relevant residence status.
